On 22 October 1990, a new version of Close To Me was released in the United Kingdom. This new remixed version was available as two versions, 'Closer Mix' and 'Closest Mix', both remixed by Paul Oakenfold in June 1990. The B-sides and extra tracks were new remixes of previous singles: Just Like Heaven (Dizzy Mix), remixed by Bryan 'Chuck' New in September 1990, Primary (Red Mix), remixed by Keith Le Blanc in September 1990, and Why Can't I Be You?
